Psychosocial outcome following kidney donation: A single-center experience

Previous studies have reported wide ranges in the prevalence of post-donation anxiety, depression, and regret living kidney donors (LKDs), with uncertain risk factors. We performed a cross-sectional study on psychological status former donors. aimed to determine characteristics compared healthy controls.
 Methods. Various tests were applied 92 control group similar characteristics. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), State-Trait Anxiety (STAI) Positive Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) World Health Organization Quality Life Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF) forms used collect data quality life (QL) donors.
 Results. Donors had higher General QL score (p=0.020). There no significant differences between groups terms mood, Physical QL, Psychological Environment scale. Female trait anxiety male (p=0.027). Level State Anxiety, Affect, Social Relations was females. statistically female affect scores (β = -0.221 (-0.403 - -0.040)) -0.131 (-0.250 -0.011)) associated lower depression scores, while negative scores(β=0.201 (0.022 -0.381).
 Conclusions. As worse than controls, carefully selected may not be burden.
